We were going through the worst spell in over 2 decades and for a lot of our fans it was the first time we had really experienced such lows. We had finished 3rd in the SPL the previous season yet things were supposed to be on a high with a young talented European coach taking charge. Things got from bad to worse – we languished 7th in the SPL at one point and were put out of the League Cup at Ibrox by lower league opposition. Our rivals were running away with everything domestically and we were in the shadow.
